Peer Reflection Post

For my peer reflection, I edited samalpern12.wordpress.com.

In Sam’s About Me section he discusses both his own background and his blog description. He establishes credibility about his topic, going away from home for college, by stating that he is from New York going to school here at URI. He shows his audience that he is relatable and knowledgeable about the topic because he is experiencing it first hand. He clearly states how he can relate to the topic by stating, “This blog is about the struggles of going away from home for college, due to the fact that I am from New York this is something I can strongly relate to.” I also like how Sam adds a personal touch to his About Me that also shows his sense of humor. He puts in the quote “Goldball searchin’ till the death of me”, a reference to his high school basketball team and also a quote from The Lion King, “Everything the light touches”.

Although Sam does describe what his topic for his blog is he doesn’t necessarily describe who is audience is or what the purpose of his blog is. He also doesn’t directly state his exigency for his topic, but I think it’s implied by him also being at school away from home, so you can tell it’s a close to heart topic.

I think Sam’s About Me is a great preview into who he his as a person, but could describe a bit more about his intended audience, purpose and a few more details about the blog itself.
